After Hours Pediatric Care:
Due to COVID-19 and to simultaneously and safely accommodate both “non-contagious” children and “potentially contagious” children, we have implemented new processes.
Please note the following:
There is no waiting room. When you arrive at the hospital, we ask that you park in a parking space, remain in your car and then call 274-4356 to “pre-register”. If you arrive by foot or by public transportation, kindly remain outside and call 274-4356 to “pre-register”.
Only 1 parent/guardian and 1 patient will be allowed to enter the hospital. Additional siblings will not be allowed to enter unless they are also Kid’s Care patients.
Please enter through the Emergency Department entrance only. Upon entering, you will be screened as per the CMC Entrance Screening protocol.
While waiting permission to proceed and go to Kids Care, if you feel that your child is getting worse and is in need of immediate care, please go to the Emergency Department and your child will be seen as an Emergency Room patient.

About Kids Care:
At Cayuga Medical Center we understand that babies, children, and teenagers don’t always get sick or injured on weekdays or when the doctor’s office is open.
To better meet the needs of our community, we offer after-hours outpatient pediatric and adolescent care (infant through 17 years old) in a specialized care setting. Kids Care is staffed by our local pediatric specialists from Buttermilk Falls Pediatrics and Northeast Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, and by registered nurses who are experienced in the care of sick babies and children.
Kids Care is located in the Pediatrics Services Unit at Cayuga Medical Center, providing young patients with outpatient pediatric care outside of the Emergency Department and Urgent Care Centers. Whenever a patient is seen at Kids Care, we provide feedback about the visit as soon as possible to the child’s primary care physician. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition of care and good communication with the child’s established health care provider.
