Step 2

Have your preoperative physical

If you and your orthopedic surgeon decide the best option for treating your condition is surgery, the next step is to have a preoperative physical to make sure you are optimally prepared to undergo the procedure. If you are healthy with no past medical history you may be able to have your physical right in the orthopedic office and schedule for surgery at the same time. If you have current or past medical conditions that puts you at a greater risk for surgery, you will be scheduled with your primary care physician. The surgery will not be scheduled until your primary care physician clears you medically. Our goal is to make sure you are safe and well prepared to undergo surgery.
